Dave was such a sweet guy....I got to know him better after high school...he knew my brother Terry as a baseball coach and adored him...everytime I saw Dave, the first thing he said to me is "how's Terry?"..He was always in a great mood and ready to talk sports....A's...Giants....I  know how much he loved Paula and was happy to have such a wonderful companion to travel with and be best friends....I will miss seeing him..

I enjoyed his Facebook comments.  He was always there.  What I didn't know was how sick he was.  He ever complained.  He said goodbye to us on Facebook when he entered hospice care; it broke my heart.  He is missed everyday.

Being the geeky recluse I was throughout high school, Dave and I rarely if ever crossed paths back then. But we did frequently on Facebook over the past few years, much of it via private messaging, and I'd like to think we became pretty good online friends.

Dave loved baseball as much as I do bowling, and he was as passionate about politics as I misguidedly became over the last few years. He was always getting, as he put it, thrown in "Facebook jail" for some alleged impropriety, and I would offer him jocular consolation and advice born of lessons learned from my own considerable personal experience with suspensions.

David was a very nice guy whom I feel privileged to have gotten to know. I was aware for quite some time of his failing health but was still very sad when he told me he'd decided to quit painfully subjecting himself to the ever-diminishing returns of dialysis and to let nature take its inexorable course. But we continued to stay in touch almost right until the end which came even sooner than I anticipated.

I miss Dave, and it seems that I'm not the only one. RIP dear friend.
